World cup in Offenburg

photo : Sylvain Badia

A very strong finish for Kiara Bisaro after a crash during the race.
Marie-Helène Prémont finished 2nd and Alison Sydor 38th.

So the second world cup in Offenburg is over and I am heading back to France. It is sunny now but we had some good rain during the race. The course was really suited to me but I was not feeling incredible during my warm up. Just kind of a heavy feeling. I was really nervous too since I was hoping to have a decent race here.
We did 2 start loops and 6 full laps. It started to sprinkle on the start line but I decided to stick with my dry option tires. It was a good choice since it didn't start to absolutely pour until lap 3. I was doing quite well in the race. I had an okay start but then was moving up consistently and riding with 2 other strong girls. I was riding technically well but there were some places I just felt really slow on the climbs. After it started to rain my brakes started to not really work. The thing is that when the conditions get crappy like that it turns into as much of a mental thing as physical. The descents were dangerous already and with my lack of brakes I was really happy I was having an on day technically. Everything else worked perfectly which a lot of people don't have in the mud.
I was in a group with 4 girls including Sabine Spitz on the final lap and I had a fairly massive crash and slid down an entire descent on my ass while still clipped in to my bike on one side. Yup I am a mtber! I lost contact with the group but made it safely down the rest of the descents. I finished 10th at the end. 2 min off the podium and 6:50 from the lead. I am quite happy with it and excited and super motivated for the next one in Champery 2 weeks from now.
Hope the Canada Cup went well!

Hi to all in Montreal.
No internet lately, as we were travelling in Italy to race the italian cup in Lugagnano val d'arda http://www.lugagnanooffroad.it/new/docs/raceinfo.php
and do some training on incredible road. it was also on the way to germany for us to race the world cup number 2 tomorrow. The course is not super technical but there is 3 big drops and you have to really believe in yourself to just go and ride them. The weather is suppose to change fromp nice and hot today to rain for the race day.
it's so hot that almost everynight there is a little storm, like in the mountain. Will see.

Kiara was on the podium again, in Italia and had some word on the local newspaper the day after, that was nice.

Sibelius : Johan Sibeluis Compositeur classique finlandais.
Chorus : n.m. (latin) Musique : Choeur.
Cappricio : n.m. (italien) Caprice, fantaisie, envie.
Orpheo : Opéra de Gluck
Adagio : adv. (italien) Musique : Mouvement solennel
Mondano : adj. (italien) Mondain (note : Vélo de ville)
Urbano : adj. (italien) Urbain (note : Vélo de ville)

Montolieu

Hello Ville St Laurent,

We were very pleased to see that the Opus-OGC provencial Team did well at the 1st Canada cup and Happy to see that Caroline Villeneuve and Andreanne Pichette were on the Podium.

We are back in our base camp at my parents place in Montolieu, south of France after a trip to switzerland for the swiss power cup. Kiara had an okay day and tha competition was hard, but she manage to put in a hard effort and did an amazing job. She was on the Podium again.

The Fhast 1 has already made some podium (USA, France, Spain, Switzerland) and I hope that Opus start to be known a bit more here in Europe, we are working on it.

We are planning to go to Italy this week end to race a class 1 to get UCI points.
It will put us on the way to germany and everybody is racing a lot, so, Kiara need to move up in the international ranking (she's 56 today). that's the race we are planning to go to.

I will keep you posted on that.
Hope everything is going well.
Have a good day

Sylvain

Team Opus's Kiara BISARO wins the Open de Espana Maxxis in Ager (Lleida)

Kiara Bisaro Team Opus raced the third event of the Open de Espana Maxxis in Ager (Lleida) on the 6th of May and managed to win this race with a comfortable advance on a Spanish field of women racers in the great area of the Noguera region, in the Catalan Pyrenees.
3 laps on a 10,1 Km race track and 1h37:55 later Kiara crossed the finish line on her Opus Fhast Iwith a large gap on the second and third Spanish racer that apparently didn't recognized Kiara on the start line and didn't react when Kiara attacked after less than 2 Km in the race.
Kiara continues her Racing European Tour Sunday in Switzerland the swisspower cup in Hasliberg. In between she is training in Montolieu (Aude) under the sun of South of France.

Bisaro Wins French ATB Marathon

photo : Sylvain Badia

Riding her Opus Fhast I, Team Opus's Kiara Bisara won the Nimes Garrigue VTT , a gruelling 63km ATB race held in southern France April 29th.

Kiara is staying in France between European World Cup races and entered the Nimes Garrigue event as a training event between World Cups.
